General Product Information

We currently offer white oak, western maple, & cottonwood across most of our designs.

Our priority is sourcing material from across the PNW. We harvest naturally fallen trees, and work with nearby suppliers who source timber from responsibly managed forests. All our products are made from solid wood and kiln dried prior to production.

Stain refers to the color applied to the wood prior to sealing. We currently offer 5 stain options: Light Golden Age, Golden Age, Dark Golden Age, Soil, and Char.

Custom staining is available for an additional fee.

Finish refers to the style the table is finished in. We currently offer organic, clean, or distressed.

We can accommodate small size changes (length, width, and height) in our tables. Depending on the request there may be a fee for customization. Please Contact Us if you are interested in customizing an existing Ecology Product.

For fully custom designs, you can submit a request via our Custom Build page. These requests are handled on a case-by-case basis and generally have longer lead times. 

All our products are treated with a high-quality, low-VOC sealant that is food-safe, easy to clean, moisture-repellent, and highly durable. Our sealant is available only in a matte finish

Our standard products are not designed for outdoor use. If you are planning on placing your furniture in a covered area that is not directly exposed to rain or direct sunlight, we may be able to accommodate adding additional layers of sealant to the product(s).

On each of our product pages, there is a section on the lower right portion of the page that gives the rough product dimensions.

We produce all our products to very tight dimensional tolerances, but you may notice your table shrinking across the grain over time. This is usually due to your item(s) acclimating to the humidity and temperature of your home. We source and dry all our wood to 5% - 9% relative moisture content to help minimize shrinking but we cannot guarantee your table will not shrink over time.


The thickness of our products can vary slightly depending on the source of our materials. We generally aim to be right at 1.5”, 2”, and 3” but thickness can possibly vary by +/- 1/8”. If you have additional questions, please speak to one of our sales representatives. 

Product Care

To ensure longevity of the sealant on your item(s) we recommend using natural based cleaners. Avoid using citrus based cleaners or cleaners with citric acid in them. Often using warm water with light dish soap is all you need.

Solid wood is a natural material that responds to changes in temperature and humidity. As your furniture adjusts to your home’s environment, you may notice:


Expansion & Contraction: Wood absorbs and releases moisture, which may cause slight movement in joints, drawers, or tabletops.

Minor Cracks or Checks: Small surface cracks can appear due to natural shifts in humidity but typically do not affect durability.

Warping or Cupping: In some cases, uneven moisture absorption can lead to slight changes in shape.

Color Changes: Exposure to sunlight and air will naturally deepen or lighten the wood’s color over time.

Joint Adjustments: Seasonal changes may cause joints to feel tighter or looser, but our quality craftsmanship helps minimize this.


To help your furniture settle properly:

✔ Keep indoor humidity levels between 35-55% to prevent excessive expansion or shrinkage.

✔ Avoid placing furniture near heat sources or direct sunlight to prevent warping.

✔ Allow a few weeks to months for the wood to fully adjust to your home.

✔ Use a humidifier or dehumidifier in extreme climates for added stability.

Ordering & Payments

If you would like to order samples before placing an order, you can do so directly from our Samples Page. Once your your order is paid in full, we can credit your order for up to 3 samples. 

You can schedule a showing at our production shop and showroom in Woodland, WA Mon-Fri 9-4pm or by appointment. Please call or message for more info (see contact page).

We are also happy to do video calls.

Due to our products being made to order, we require a deposit to process your order and reserve a spot in our production schedule. This is a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total order including shipping charges.

Once you have paid your final invoice (or if you have paid your order in full), your order is checked into production and our team will ship stain samples to your home. We will also reach out to confirm all delivery details and give you an estimate on when your item(s) will arrive. 

Cancellations & Refunds Orders canceled within 2 Days of paying your Final Invoice are eligible for a partial refund.

The Initial Deposit is non-refundable but can be used as store credit on a future order. All Custom Builds outside of our standard product offerings listed on our website are handled on a case-by-case basis and might not be eligible for a refund.

Returns At Ecology, every piece of furniture is crafted to order, ensuring a unique, high-quality product tailored specifically to your selections. Because of this, all sales are final, and we do not offer refunds or accept returns once production has begun. Please carefully review the details of your order before continuing with the order process.

Defective or Damaged Products We stand behind the quality and craftmanship of our work. If your order arrives with a defect or damage, please immediately do the following:

• Document the issue with photos and note it on the delivery receipt.
Accept the delivery and contact us within 5 days of receiving your order.

We will evaluate the issue and work with you to provide an appropriate solution, which may include repairs, replacements, or other resolutions as determined by our customer support team.

Natural wood characteristics such as minor movement, cracks, or slight warping due to environmental factors are not considered defects but part of the wood’s natural aging process. Please refer to our FAQ Section on “What to Expect as Your Furniture Acclimates” for more information.

Shipping & Delivery Information

Once your final invoice is paid or your order is paid in full, you can expect to receive your order in approximately 18-20 weeks.

For large orders with several items or custom/over sized pieces, your order may take longer to complete. We will communicate this with you upfront before placing your order if longer than normal lead times are required.

Shipping costs vary based on size, weight, and delivery location and are calculated by our sales team before you place your non-refundable deposit. Contact us for more info.

We offer scheduled pick-up from our Woodland, WA production facility only. Our facility is not set up for long-term storage, and items not picked up as scheduled will be subject to a late pick-up fee of $75 per day.

Our products will typically be shipped flat-packed with the legs unattached. Assembly is fast, straightforward, and can easily be done using the provided instructions and tools.

Warranty or Damage During shipping

Warranty Coverage

At Ecology, we stand behind the quality and craftsmanship of our work. We offer a 2-year warranty on all our furniture, covering each piece at no extra cost to you. Our warranty provides protection against manufacturing defects and issues arising during shipping, this includes but not limited to:

• Cracking, splitting, chipping, or warping
• Bumps, obstructions, or tarnishing of stains and sealants
• Other visual or physical product defects

We inspect each piece to ensure it meets our highest standards, but natural materials can shift, and occasional defects may occur. If you discover any defects upon delivery or within the 2-year warranty period, please notify us immediately.


Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:

• Damage caused by improper or unsafe use
• Issues resulting from improper care, neglect, or misuse
• Natural wood movement (minor expansion, contraction, or small cracks due to environmental factors)

Submitting A Warranty Claim
We are dedicated to ensuring your experience with Ecology is positive from start to finish. For warranty inquiries or to report a problem with your order, please contact our team as soon as you notice the issue. To assist us in resolving the issue, please provide clear photos of the area of concern. 

Once our customer support team receives and assess the images, we will determine the appropriate resolution and contact you with next steps. This may include repair, replacement, or another suitable remedy depending on the circumstances.
